Biography

Theresa Short is a Business Operations Supervisor in the Chemical Sciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. She leads a team of administrative professionals and is responsible for identifying, implementing, and overseeing business processes for the Division. In her role she also manages day to day operations for LiSA (Liquid Sunlight Alliance), a multi-disciplinary Department of Energy Hub that includes seven institutions including several UC campuses. Her work within the Hub includes resolving logistics issues, interfacing with external customers, and ensuring overall operations needs are met.


Theresa enjoys contributing to initiatives that are part of the overall benefit to the Lab and its mission and continually joins working groups and IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accountability) workshops. She has developed strong relationships with staff at several institutions and maintains a large diverse network within the Lab. In the past she has participated in the Workforce Development & Education outreach program by taking science kits to elementary classrooms, and facilitating onsite workshops and events. One of her recent project contributions was participating in the creation of the Lab wide Onboarding website which ensures every new staff member feels welcome while also providing them with the tools to succeed. Currently, she participates in the Lab’s Learning and Organizational Development, Equity Reset program. She is honored to be joining CUCSA for her first term as a junior delegate and looks forward to joining a forum that advocates for topics that are of a common interest for all staff.
