Biography

Alvin Cha is a UC Merced alum and the first in his family to attend and graduate from a 4-year institution. He has been part of the UC Merced community since 2007 when he first entered as an undergraduate and has been in a staff role for over 6 years. Alvin earned a Master of Business Administration from CSU Stanislaus in 2016 and is currently an Assistant Registrar in the Office of the Registrar. He oversees UC Merced’s degree audit system for all students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels as well and maintains and transfer credit system and entry process for all students. In addition, Alvin has also serves on the UC Merced Alumni Association Board of Directors as a Board member and is entering his 4 th year on the Board.

Alvin joined UC Merced Staff Assembly to engage and advocate for staff and plans to continue this during his time with CUCSA. He recalls the support that staff had given him during his years as an undergraduate student and wants to ensure that staff are valued for what they do to support and serve students, staff and faculty.
