Maritza Fuljencio is the Graduate Advisor for the Department of Global Studies at UC Santa Barbara. She began her career at UCSB in 2009 with the School of Education, where for 8 years she oversaw the two largest undergraduate minors on campus along with advising graduate students in the Ph.D., M.A., and M.Ed. degrees. In her current department, she advises Ph.D. and M.A. students and participates in the UC Academic Advising Conference yearly to convene graduate advisors system-wide and present graduate student-related panels.
Maritza joined the UCSB Staff Assembly executive board in 2016 and serves on the committees for the New Employee Coffee Hour, Gauch Mentor Connection, Winter Arts & Crafts Bazaar, and Staff Celebration Week Ice Cream Social & Prize Drawing. She looks forward to working with fellow CUCSA delegates and collaborating on improving staff engagement, organizational culture, and communication between staff, faculty, and students.
