Sujit Thapa is a Policy and Program Analyst in the Student Financial Support unit at the Office of the President, where he works on data and policy analysis to support UC’s student financial support goals, enabling the University to be accessible and affordable to all students. He serves as a co-Chair of the OP Staff Assembly Steering Committee and is a CUCSA junior delegate. At CUCSA, he hopes to craft solutions to enhance staff well-being and career advancement opportunities, build relations, and develop his understanding of the workings of the University.
He has a M. Ed from Harvard, where he was an Impact Award Recipient, a Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council member, and co-organizer of the Asia Leadership Trek. He has a MPP from UC Berkeley, where he was a Departmental Fellow, the President of the International Public Policy Group and an elected Student representative on the Goldman School Strategy Committee.
Before Berkeley, he was an Engineering manager at Cisco Systems. He holds a MS in Electrical Engineering from USC, and a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from University of Bristol, UK, where he was an Overseas Development Agency Scholar and an elected Student Union representative. In his spare time he enjoys soccer, spending time with family, cuisines from across the world, reading history, global affairs and literature, and traveling.
