Biography

Diego Espinoza is a Sous Chef with UC Merced Dining Services, where he helps lead culinary operations, staff development, and workplace excellence within a high-volume, Farm-To-Table dining program. As a CUCSA Delegate, he is committed to representing UC Merced staff and advancing initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and support across the University of California system. Outside of work, Diego enjoys spending time with his two cats, his wife, and staying connected with family and friends.

“The most positive part of my CUCSA experience was the opportunity to engage with my peers across the UC system, to learn that the challenges that we were facing at UC Riverside were not always unique to us, and in some cases had been addressed and even solved. I also enjoyed my time outside the meeting, chatting with colleagues and dinners and the odd karaoke bar, learning more about them both personally and professionally. Some of these friendships have lasted until today.”
