Biography
Erin Harbin is the Business Manager for the Building & Industrial Energy Systems (BIES) Division within the Energy Technologies Area (ETA) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. A dedicated advocate for staff engagement and positive workplace culture, she also serves as Co-Chair of the ETA Stewardship Community of Practice. In this role, she champions initiatives that foster a workplace community that reflects the core values of respect, team science, service, trust and innovation.
As the division’s Operations lead and a member of its leadership team, Erin provides comprehensive organizational and programmatic management for BIES researchers and staff. She is passionate about creating efficient systems, fostering collaborative teams, and cultivating environments where research can thrive. She oversees all business operations—ensuring safety, compliance, and seamless coordination with Lab policies while collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders. Through her leadership, Erin bridges daily administration with strategy, aligning operational goals with Berkeley Lab’s broader mission of delivering science-driven solutions to the world.
Erin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master of Business Administration from the Lorry I. Lokey Graduate School of Business at Mills College.
