Biography

In her role at UC Berkeley, Hailey supervises non-clinical Case Managers and supports students experiencing hardship and distress. She also serves as the campus Respondent Services Coordinator. She believes that “success” is different for every individual and that the role of student support staff is to offer navigational capital, compassion, and unconditional positive regard.

Hailey brings these values into her support for our UC staff community and believes that employment with the UC can and should positively transform lives. Some of her advocacy for staff includes starting a staff DEBIJ Book club at UC Merced, creating affinity spaces for women identified staff in Residence Life and Housing, supporting first-generation professional initiatives, serving on the UC Berkeley Chancellors Committee of the Status of Women, creating the UC’s first Menopause Supportive Workplace Initiative, and service on the Berkeley Staff Assembly as Co-Chair.

Hailey has worked for the University of California for 11 years at UC Merced, UC Santa Cruz, and UC Berkeley. She earned her Bachelors degree in English Literature and Liberal Studies from the University of Redlands and her Masters of Arts degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University. Outside of work, Hailey loves to read, exercise, bake, and take naps with her dachshund, Snoodie.
