Biography

Joy Kruger is President of the UCLA Staff Assembly. Joy earned her MBA in 2011 from University of Portland, with an emphasis in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. After graduating, she began a career in nonprofit fundraising. She led the advancement efforts as Director of Donor Relations for Multnomah University for two years before moving to Los Angeles. In LA, she worked at a full-service marketing agency. Using industry best practices, years of experience, and testing, Joy developed and implemented the strategy for membership and fundraising for several great organizations, including the Natural History Museum of LA, the Heard Museum (Phoenix), the Natural History Museum of Utah, and California Academy of Sciences (San Francisco). Joy was thrilled to join the UCLA team in 2018 as a major gift officer for the Physical Sciences.

Joy loves learning and exploring what is happening around UCLA, and enjoys sharing events and opportunities with others. She is a natural connector of people, and as President, Joy is looking forward to creating opportunities for—and advocating on behalf of—staff.

She is looking forward to building upon the accomplishments of her predecessors, sharing an array of resources and opportunities with all UCLA staff members, and helping make this year the best we can. Outside of UCLA, Joy enjoys making and experiencing art, reading, and walking around Hollywood.
