Biography

Aaron Jones currently serves as Interim Director at the Educational Opportunity Programs at University of California Santa Cruz. Aaron joined UCSC from the University of Hawaii in 2016 as African Black Caribbean Retention Specialist in a split role reporting to the African American Resource & Cultural Center and EOP. He is the senior delegate for CUCSA, as past-chair of the Staff Advisory Board at UCSC. He also serves as the inaugural chair of the Black Leadership Alliance Council, BLAC@UC, an advocacy group of leaders representing the Black affinity groups across the University of California.

Aaron, an LA Native, is a UC double alum, graduating from UC Riverside with a BA in English and MEd in Higher Education Administration and Policy. He was an involved undergraduate and graduate student engaging in several campus and system-wide groups such as ASUCR, Graduate Student Association, UCSA, UC Council on Student Fees, Chancellor and UC President searches. In 2019, he completed his doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Azusa Pacific University.
