Biography

Arlene De Guzman Bañaga began her journey at UC Berkeley as an Administrative Assistant for the Division of Student Affairs. In her current role as Human Resources Generalist for Berkeley Regional Services SHARE Region, Arlene provides a highly communicative onboarding process for her departments and student hires. Her extensive experience in using ServiceNow, Smartsheets, and UCPath enabled her to join the HR ServiceNow 2.0 project, ASE/GSR Hiring Improvements, Automation and Future of Work initiatives. She is currently serving as the CUCSA Senior Delegate for UC Berkeley Staff Assembly. She aims to leverage technology to improve employee experience, policies and processes while utilizing resources to empower staff to effectively serve their own campus community. Arlene earned a BA in Journalism, emphasis in Public Relations, minor in Political Science and allied discipline in Marketing at San Diego State University. Outside of UC Berkeley, Arlene enjoys sightseeing, playing board games, visiting theme parks and San Diego and spending quality time with her charming husband, Eric and their sweet and boisterous kiddos Sasha Elle and Calliope Quinn.
