Biography

My name is Krystal Raylyn Gonzales, and I have proudly served UC Merced for six years. I began my UC journey as an Associate in DFA, advanced to Procurement Specialist, and currently serve as a General Accountant in DFA. Throughout my time at UC Merced, I have also been actively involved in Staff Assembly, serving as Financial Officer-Elect, Financial Officer, and now Vice President. My path to higher education was not traditional. After becoming a teen mother and starting a family early, pursuing a degree often felt out of reach. Despite the setbacks and challenges, I remained determined. I recently earned my degree in Psychology and am continuing my education in Accounting to better serve in my role at UC Merced and strengthen my professional impact. I strive to lead with purpose and compassion, giving back the same kindness and mentorship that shaped my journey. Higher education has become deeply meaningful to me, and I am committed to building others up by encouraging growth, expanding access to resources, and supporting career and personal development throughout the UC system.
