Biography

Emma Cristofani-Tran is a member of UC Santa Barbara’s Staff Assembly and has participated in various staff groups, including the Chancellor’s Staff Advisory Council, the Chancellor’s Task Force for Campus Staff, and Gaucho Mentor Connection. She has 12 years of service with UCSB.

Emma moved from the Bay Area to Santa Barbara for her undergraduate education, where she started with Campus Learning Assistance Services (CLAS) as a writing tutor in her senior year. After graduating, she became started her career employment with CLAS, and is now the Interim Director of the department.

In addition to a deep investment in the UC mission and staff welfare, Emma is deeply invested in nerd culture: Lord of the Rings, Zelda, Star Wars, Studio Ghibli, and the MCU, to name a few. And DC. She doesn’t discriminate.
